Angie Radatti arranges Monday tee times for The Falls Monday Golf Guys--that is, the same guys who play on Tuesday and Thursday but who want to add an extra day of play to their week. Any Falls guy who has a USGA handicap and purchases an Eagle Crest Annual Pass is welcome to join.

Join an enthusiastic body-shaping class made up of a great group of “Falls” women who meet twice a week with one goal in mind….to get healthy and stay fit for everything else that happens in The Falls. Fit Chicks is spiritedly led by Dena Johnson whose background includes a BS in Exercise Science and an Advanced ACSM Certification. This class is energized by music and emphasizes strength, agility, balance, and fall prevention. Join other dedicated Falls ladies at the clubhouse and find out how much fun getting in shape can be!

Mah-Jongg has two groups of players in The Falls. One group plays Mondays at 9:45 a.m., the other on Thursdays at 1:00 p.m. Anyone who wants to learn the mysteries of this ancient and fascinating game may sign up at the clubhouse. Lessons for newcomers are conducted periodically.

This weekly knitting group, which meets every Monday at 3:00 p.m. in the Clubhouse craft room, has had a resurgence of members since its presentation at a Falls Dolls luncheon in January. A number of Afghan patterns are being started, a darling felted easter basket finished and given away, and mony other great project underwayu. Join friends and neighbors each Tuesday morning at the clubhouse for an hour of fellowship and conversation. Coffee hour is hosted by volunteers each week, and a sign up sheet is available for new volunteers.

Starting in April, Pin Pals will bowl on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Lava Lanes. This schedule will be in effect during Spring and Summer months. Contact Ed Scavinsky for further information. april, The Pin Pals will bowl weekly, at the same time and in the same place. This is recreational (not competitive) bowling. It's also Monte Carlo bowling in which you can win money by getting strikes when certain colored pins or combinations of colored pins are in "winning" positions. Be sure to arrive about 12:45 PM to allow time for paying, renting shoes, etc.

The Trekkers will do more driving than hiking on October 14, but everyone can be assured the time is going to be well worth the trip. They will meet at the clubhouse at 8:00 a.m. to carpool, and then drive to the John Day Fossil Beds, beginning with the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center, a modern facility that serves as a museum and an orientation to the Fossil Beds. After an hour or so at the museum (admission is free), they weill convene for lunch in Mitchell, at Little Pine Cafe. Following lunch they will visit the Painted Hills section of the Fossil Beds. If you plan to go, contact Joan Verne at jverne@bendbroadband.com, to make reservations for lunch. Return to The Fall s will be at about 4:00 p.m. This is about a 200 mile round trip, but one of the most worthwhile excursions in all of Oregon. Particularly if you are a newcomer to the area, don't miss this outing.

The Finance Committee reviews all financial documents monthly, including both operating and reserve accounts. It makes recommendations to the Board of The Falls Owners Association as the needed changes to budget items. The Committee also prepares the annual budget for the association and works with the accountant to assure accuracy in all financial matters.

Larry and Mary Thornburgh will lead this final trip for the Drifters in 2009. Please note that it is on Thursday, October 22, instead of the usual Friday outing. This trip will take you to Shelter Cove Resort at Odell Lake. The lake is off Hwy. 58. Mary and Larry plan to stay overnight at Shelter Cove on Wednesday, meet everyone for the paddle trip on Thursday, and then stay on through Thursday night. If Drifters would like to join them, the Resort is offering a special price for two mid-week nights. If you just plan to drive down for the day at the lake, they'll put the boats in the water when everyone arrives. Ron Klein will present a forum for discussing the issue of long term care. He will provide information to help with this important aspect of planning for the future, sharing resources from government agencies as well as caregiver organizations. The seminar will be held in the clubhouse card room from 10:00 to approximately 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 24. Since space will be limited, there will be a sign up sheet at the clubhouse.
